Garden Hose Reel
A Garden Hose Reel can be a godsend to a hard-working gardener. This is especially true if that gardener lives in a dry climate that requires daily or even twice daily watering of the garden. Although in that case you should check out some other options, like soaker hoses or similar.
Can you imagine having to haul that hose out and in every time? And, just think of all the damage to that hose from the wear and tear that it gets in this process, on top of the damage from use. Much of the damage is caused by the hose being pulled when it is looped and kinked. This means that after you unwind the hose and pull it out to where you need it, you then have to uncurl it to remove the loops and stop the hose from getting kinked. Very likely your hose already either leaks badly or is replaced regularly. A Garden Hose Reel would save all that. All you do is pull the hose out and it comes easily and rolls out straight. When you are finished with it all you do is wind it in using the handle on the reel same as you would when fishing. Some reels are electric or mechanised in some way and do this work for you.

The Garden Hose Reel will simplify the job. All you do is draw out the hose from the reel and turn it on. The hose comes out straignt, no tangles or kinks. If you allowed the hose to empty as you wound it in after the last use, then the hose will be light and easy to handle. Even if the hose is full of water it is still very manageable. This is very different from the old way of carrying the hose out to the tap and untangling it. Trying to straighten it out and remove all the kinks so that it will work properly.
When you are finished all you do is take the nozzel off the end and walk back to the Garden Hose Reel. Take hold of the handle and start winding. As you wind up the hose the water pours out of the end of the hose as the hose is wound around the spool. Many models now wind the hose in for you using various methods.
If you have a very large garden you can wind it up and carry it (if it is small enough) or wheel it to the next water-source/tap. Moving the hose the old fashioned way meant that you had to coil up the hose and carry it to the new destination and go through the same old process of straighteneing out the hose again.
As you can see on this site, there are many different styles of Garden Hose Reels. Some big some small some permanently attached to a wall at the water source others are mobile. It is also possible to get a portable workstation (there is a picture here) with a sink and Garden Hose Reel built-in.
There was a time when advanced equipment such as this was expensive, but not any more.
